North of England maps and GPS files

mapThe North of England has some of the wildest and most challenging routes in the United Kingdom, The Peak District and Yorkshire Moors are not only incredibly beautiful, they're very easy to get to from much of the country,

The table below has a list of audax events, along with an interactive map and a gps file to download. You can use the map to get an idea of where a route goes, and scroll in and out to see more detail. The GPS files are free to download, and are in GPX and Memory Map mmo file.

Bear in mind that some events change every year as a matter of course. The route here from 2007 might not be the same in 2008. Permanent rides are also occasionally updated, so if you plan to use these files when riding, make sure you check them against the route sheet when it arrives.

If you have a GPS file of an audax event or permanent ride that you'd like to share, feel free to drop me a line, and I'll be sure to post it here.

To download the gpx files, right click on the link, and select "save file as".

The Manchester Loop - This is a great permanent ride, but boy is it hard work. If you start in Leigh, you'll do all the hills first. Ridden by me 25 February 2007 200km DOWNLOAD DOWNLOAD
Forest of Bowland - Parts of this route are patched up, because I missed my turnings on the way back. This is the hardest 200 I've ever ridden, but well worth the effort. This is being run as an event in 2008. Hoorah! Route taken 25 March 07. 200km DOWNLOAD DOWNLOAD
