Wales maps and GPS files

mapPersonally, I think Wales offers the best audax cycling in the UK. As well as being incredibly scenic, the countryside is crisscrossed with a myriad of country lanes. Many of the major roads can be quiet too. Snowdonia, The Brecon Beacons, The Elan Valley and The Black Mountains are all worth investigating. It's no surprise that many of Audax's most popular events are situated here.

Below is a list of some of the audax events in Wales, along with an interactive map showing the route, along with a gps file to download to your mapping software or GPS unit. You can use the Google interactive map to get an idea of where a route goes, and scroll in and out to see more detail. The GPS files are free to download, and are in GPX and Memory Map mmo file.

Bear in mind that some events change every year as a matter of course. The route here from 2007 might not be the same in 2008. Permanent rides are also occasionally updated, so if you plan to use these files when riding, make sure you check them against the route sheet when it arrives.

If you have a GPS file of an audax event or permanent ride that you'd like to share, feel free to drop me a line, and I'll be sure to post it here.

To download the gpx files, right click on the link, and select "save file as".
